Friday 6th December

7pm Festival Dinner with Fish Shop Ballater, Highland Games Pavilion

Join us for the Festival Dinner by Fish Shop Ballater at the Highland Games Pavilion, starting at 7pm for a 7:30pm dinner. Enjoy an arrival drink before sitting down to a carefully prepared three-course meal. A paying bar will be available throughout the evening. After dinner, relax to the smooth, easy-listening music of Natalie and Shaun Coynach.

9:30am - 4pm Hot Drinks and Festive Goodies, Highland Games Pavilion

Join us at the Games Pavilion round our roaring fire and enjoy teas, coffees, hot chocolate and a selection of festive goodies.

10am - 12noon Wreath Making Workshop with Coo Hill Studio, Highland Games Pavilion

Come along and enjoy a relaxed workshop making a luxury fresh Christmas wreath for your front door. We will be using gorgeous winter foliage, berries, dried fruits and other natural textures and materials, beautiful ribbons and added extras! Learn wiring and floristry techniques and tricks to use again and again and bring home a unique, sustainably-made treasure for your home. Hand-made, natural Christmas joy!

12:30pm - 2pm Christmas Wine Tasting, Highland Games Pavilion

St Margaret’s are delighted to have ‘paired up’ with Laura, Sommelier from the Fish Shop, to offer a special wine tasting experience. We have challenged Laura with a theoretical St Margaret’s Christmas Day menu and she will present six wines paired to the menu.

Participants will be offered the opportunity to order 3, 6 or 12 bottles of wine (no obligation) which will be available to collect from the Fish Shop from 18th December.

3pm - 3.30pm Soundbath Taster with Lynn Park, Highland Games Pavilion

Come and enjoy some relaxation during the festive period. A soundbath is a form of sound therapy. A sound meditation, using crystal and Tibetian bowls which may help with stress reduction, improve sleep quality, stimulate circulation and strengthen the immune system. Help to bring the body and mind back into balance and harmony.

This session ​will include a 20 minute soundbath followed by a chance to ask questions.

Mats will be provided but please bring a pillow and blanket or sleeping bag to keep yourself warm and comfortable.

6pm - 8pm A Celebration of Christmas Concert, St Margaret’s

St Margaret's will once again host a traditional Christmas concert on Saturday 7th December at 6pm. It will be preceded from 4pm by the welcoming fires, Scandinavian Candles and two food trucks offering pork rolls (Balnault) and Pizza and of course copious amounts of mulled wine!


The concert this year features - The Simpson Singers (choral group), a brass ensemble from Bon Accord Brass, jazz duo Rachael Lightbody and Tom Gibbs, children from Braemar Primary School and of course yourselves!! A great way to get into the Christmas spirit.
