Join artist Mel Shand for a 2hr sketching workshop, in the beautiful St Margaret’s Church. Designed by the architect Sir Ninian Comper, the church is a nationally important building, with elegant interiors, stunning stained glass and an intricately carved rood screen and chancel.
The workshop will start with a practical demonstration and is suitable for all skill levels with a practical approach to drawing freehand from an architecturally inspired subject and one-to-one tuition, with a maximum of 6 participants per workshop. Participants will need to bring a sketchbook, or board and paper and a line drawing pen. We welcome enquiries from anyone for whom providing their own materials is prohibitive.
Tickets are £10, with youth discount of £5 for 16-25year olds.
The workshops are hosted by Historic Churches Scotland and supported by the St Margaret’s Trust, with funding from the Scottish Government and the European Community (Cairngorms Local Action Group) LEADER 2014-2020 programme Owned by Historic Churches Scotland the building is operated by the St Margaret’s Trust as a performance venue. Both organisations are working to secure funding for much-needed conservation and adaptation work.
