As a Scottish Charity and a non-profit organisation, fund-raising remains key to our project's future.

The anticipated capital cost of refurbishing the St Margaret’s building is approximately £2.2 million and that is over and above funding our ambitious annual programme of events . Grant funding is being sought from a range of sources including the Heritage Lottery Fund, Historic Scotland, Charitable Trusts and via our Friends Membership Scheme. Whilst we are generously supported by Iwan and Manuela Wirth, owners of the Fife Arms, Braemar we still need your help so every donation no matter how small makes a big difference.

There are a range of ways in which you could support us in our ongoing restoration and development of St. Margaret’s into an internationally renowned performance, arts and heritage centre in the heart of the Cairngorm's and Aberdeenshire.

If you feel you would like to help us by donating a one-off sum of any value you wish, please contact This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. We are very grateful for your support.

We are a registered charity and our accounts are ratified by the OSCAR charity regulator.

We are always on the lookout for enthusiastic volunteers to get involved with our project.

We believe that having an organic cohort of passionate volunteers adds a new dimension to our project. They generate fresh ideas and feedback on processes, provide a wider range of experience and knowledge to share into the project and they also involve the community in St. Margaret's so that it becomes an integral part of the thriving culture in the heart of Royal Deeside and further afar to Aberdeenshire and across Scotland. Our volunteers get involved in many aspects of the promotion, set-up, running and set-down of our events.

Promotion: This can range from spreading word online about upcoming events to handing out flyers and putting up posters around the surrounding villages of Braemar.

Set-up/down: Due to our diverse programme, many of our events have different requirements in the use of our space. This means that the stage frequently needs to be put up or taken down, exhibitions needs to be hanged, chairs need to be put out and lighting fixtures needs to be altered. These tasks take time and with a few extra hands we would be able to host more events with a quicker turn around in between.

Stewarding: We are always on the lookout for some friendly faces to help us run events. Whether its stewarding an exhibition, taking sales or manning our bar, anyone wanting to get involved who enjoys a natter is most welcome.
